We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to set, and operate our AMADA AE2510 CNC Punch Machine and Bystronic Xpert Pro 150/3100 Brake Press. The successful candidate will play a key role in the precision manufacture of sheet metal components, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.

Key duties:  

•    Operation:

Set, and operate the AMADA AE2510 Punch and Bystronic Xpert Pro Brake Press in accordance with job specifications and engineering drawings. Optimize machine programs for maximum efficiency and material utilisation.

•    Machine Setup:

Perform accurate machine setup, including tool and die selection, alignment, and calibration. Ensure all setups comply with production requirements and quality standards.

•    Quality Control:

Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure components meet exact tolerances and finish standards.

•    Maintenance & TPM:

Conduct and document daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on both machines. Proactively identify and resolve minor mechanical or programming issues to minimise downtime.

•    Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall product quality.

•    Health & Safety:

Maintain strict adherence to all company health and safety policies. Operate equipment safely and ensure the working area is kept clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

•    Documentation & Reporting:

Accurately complete all production records, including works orders, route cards, and maintenance logs, ensuring full traceability and compliance with internal procedures.

     Skills/Qualifications:

•    Proven experience operating AMADA AE2510 Punch and Bystronic Xpert Pro 150/3100 Brake Press machines (or similar CNC punch and press brake systems)

•    Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and CNC principles

•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications

•    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

•    Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

•    Effective communication and teamworking abilities

•    Experience with TPM and basic machine maintenance routines

•    Experience with CAD/CAM software for sheet metal (e.g., AMADA AP100, BySoft)

•    Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
