Description & Requirements

It is a great time to join us as we continue to develop and deliver new and exciting solutions for the defence / maritime and aerospace sectors, resulting in continued growth year-on-year!

Located in Gosport, we are now looking to expand our team by recruiting a Quality Inspector with experience to support our busy manufacturing operations.  

Bringing to the role your wealth of inspection experience, you can expect to be involved in:


    Perform detailed visual inspections of PCBs and cable assemblies to identify defects, including misalignments, solder issues, and component placement errors

    Conducting inspection based activities including problem solving with basic root cause analysis

    Carrying out dimension inspection, interrogating data and drawings to make sure they are correct and flagging up any major issues

    Record and report inspection results, noting any defects or areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results

    Ensure all inspected PCBs comply with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610,620) and customer-specific requirements

    Ensure inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

To succeed, we are looking for the following in you:

    The ability to gain SC clearance (essential security requirement) 

    Possess a qualification in an Engineering discipline at HND/ HNC level or to an equivalent standard of education, or an Apprenticeship. In lieu of academics, extensive experience will be considered.

    Experience gained in a similar position where you have operated in a low to medium volume production environment, ideally within the aerospace and / or defence sector(s)

    Effective product verification techniques, understanding of first article inspection requirements and techniques

    Experience of managing a ‘first article inspection’ (FAI) process

    Proven and demonstrable experience in Root Cause analysis, problem solving and dimensional inspection analysis to drawings

    Be highly proficient in reviewing drawings, 3D CAD and product data management, to clarify parts and product are with customer’s specified tolerances

    Have hands-on experience of working in a manufacturing environment specialising in the production of fabricated enclosures and products with electronics content

    Possess strong knowledge of common engineering materials and properties

    Be knowledgeable in both AS9100 and AS9102 standards 

    Experience in using MRP system to extract appropriate documentation required for FAIR evidence

    Have the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels 

    Ability to work in a team environment and participate in all team activities, with a willingness to share own professional experience and skills.
