Description & Requirements

We’re looking for a Trainee Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our dynamic Finishing Cell team. In this vital role, you’ll help ensure that every product leaving our facility meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. From inspecting intricate electronic components to supporting continuous improvement, your expertise will help shape the quality our customer’s trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with your mentor and conduct inspections of PTH and SMT components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical inspections, including adhesive application, hardware, metal work, and cosmetic damage assessments.
  • Use precision tools and equipment to verify product quality and perform tests and measurements.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality databases.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformities, working closely with quality and engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Support and enforce quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organised inspection area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
  • Once fully trained ensure compliance with IPC-A-610.
  • Adhere to customer-specific standards and requirements for PCB manufacturing.

 

Person Specification

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills through hands-on experience and training.
  • Genuine interest in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to stay focused and organised.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or defects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, quality databases).
